Light!!!!

We have a stop light!

And it works!

Look! I can turn left!!!

Chewy air

Well, the Zaca fire smoke is still gettin' in our eyes.

I drove to Fountain Valley the other night and got some shots.

This is looking due West right around mettler. That bright spot in sky is allegedly the sun.

A little further south.

Due south, smoke hanging over the mountains.

Sunset over Frazier Park. Wow! This is where people usually go to breathe clear air.

Wildfire smoke

The Zaca Lake Fire just north and west of Santa Barbara has been burning since July 4, and aparently is getting bigger. It had burned nearly 95,000 by Monday.
It's in really rough country.
This was posted on http://www.perrygeo.net/wordpress/?p=74 on Aug. 3.
Scary stuff!

The smoke from the fire get pushed over the mountains into Kern County ever afternoon and evening. It's creepy. You can see it coming straight across the western sky headed in a nearly straight northern line.

This is looking south and west at Rosedale and Allen roads on Sunday.

Then in the later evening it hangs in our air like a curtain.

This is looking du west on Rosedale at Allen road Sunday.

Lights, camera, ACTION

We finally got a stoplight put in on Old Farm Road, which leads into our neighborhood, off Rosedale Highway.
YEA!
Now you won't have to turn right and hang a U down the highway so you can go left out of Old Farm, if that makes sense. There's so much traffic on Rosedale and they all drive like it's the freakin autobahn so going left is risking death. Speaking of which, there were 3 deaths at that intersection last summer!

Here are the new lights. Oooooooooo, ahhhhhhhhhh!
Here's the view from Old Farm Road looking out at Rosedale Highway.
And here's the view of our new lights on Rosedale heading east (cause I have to go right, west, in order to go left, west, sigh!)

Del sighting

Del, the guy who was hanging out at Yokuts Park last summer watching Freeway 99 and then disappeared has resurfaced.

I've had 2 sightings. Once at 6 a.m. near Beach Park. I hollered, Hey DEL! but he just kept walking.

Then I saw him on the bridge at Oak and Beach park. I got this picture, which is blurry, but I SWEAR it's him.
